khayaban-e-amin

khayaban-e-amin

Khayaban-e-Amin is envisioned to be a groundbreaking housing scheme, which aims to blend people from all walks of life into one vibrant whole. In doing so, it will provide an opportunity to everybody, from the richest to the salaried working classes, to live together in an exemplary society and renew the traditional dynamics of the neighborhood communities in the country.

Most of the expansion that has taken place in Lahore has been towards the South, which, in the long-term is all set to be the new urban center of the city. Keeping this in view, Khayaban-e-Amin is strategically located in the South, near the sprawling Wapda Town, just opposite Valancia Town, across its main entrance on the Defence Road.

Khayaban-e-Amin is conveniently located right on the Defence Road, a newly laid out express road, 165 feet wide, connecting Multan Road with Raiwind Road, Ferozepur Road, Bedian Road and Allama Iqbal Airport. Also, the Ring Road passes through Khayaban-e-Amin having its own interchange. Ring Road being a 6 lane express highway is designed to skirt around the city of Lahore. It is a couple of minutes drive from Shaukat Khanum Hospital and just 12 minutes from Thokar Niaz Baig.

About DHA

LCCHS (Lahore Cantt Cooperative Housing Society) was established on 19 March 1975 with the Registrar Coop Punjab. The business of the Society was carried out through a Management Committee (MC) consisting of 11-15 members. During 1989, in the general meeting of the members a byelaw, authorizing serving army officers to cast vote through postal ballot for electing MC members and making policy decisions was passed. This did not suit to some members due to their vested interests. Therefore they challenged the decision in the High Court. In 1991 High Court suspended the MC and entrusted all the power of MC to Commander Lahore Corps. In order to improve the efficiency of LCCHS, the Society was converted into Defence Housing Authority on 2 Jul 1999. first through a Provincial Ordinance and finally through Federal DHA Order of 19 September 2002.
